COME TO THE WATER
"He leads me beside quiet waters; He refreshes my soul." Psalm 23:2-3 NIV
Women's Fall Retreat
Just like much needs to happen beneath the surface for a plant to grow and flourish, much of God's good work in us must also happen in the hidden spaces. In the places of stillness, silence and solitude, our roots can grow deep into the love of God, nourishing us and preparing us for the work set before us. When we are rooted in the love of Christ, our lives can truly flourish!
What, When & Where?
We are creating a space for you to rest, be refreshed, and dream with God.
Join us October 11-13, 2024 for a weekend retreat at The Lakehouse Retreat,
located on beautiful Lake Huron in Tawas City, Michigan.
The retreat will begin Friday at 6pm and end Sunday at noon.
There will be opportunities to take part in evening and morning Christ-centered yoga sessions, guided meditations, group spiritual direction, and creative exercises; but don't worry, we won't overschedule you!
There will also be time for silence & solitude, journaling, napping, and enjoying the lake views.
Lodging and all meals are included.
Meet Your Hosts
Sherry McWilliam - Host and Yoga Teacher
Sherry's desire is to create space for others to deepen their relationship with God, receive healing in their body/mind/spirit, and encounter authentic community. She has found the practice of Christ-centered yoga to be a beautiful way to offer all these things - especially when offered within a retreat environment. Sherry first felt called to the ministry of sharing God's message of love and grace through the practice of yoga in 2014, and has been offering classes and retreats ever since. She is a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-200) and a Certified Holy Yoga Instructor (C-HYI 500). Having a desire to learn more about the therapeutic benefits of yoga and how to make the practice accessible to a larger population, she has received over 1,000 hours of continuing education since that time. Although trained in many styles of yoga, she has noticed the greatest need in her community to be a place to slow down and rest. She is currently offering a weekly restorative yoga class in Brighton, MI.
Stacey Laho - Host and Spiritual Director
Stacey marvels at the path God has cleared for her to find His nearness. During some stormy years of pain and loss, her faith was reshaped to discover the presence of Jesus and the Holy Spirit like never before. She was led to complete a certificate as a Christian spiritual director through the school of Sustainable Faith. A spiritual director comes alongside another person as a companion to deeply listen, through dependence on the Holy Spirit, to notice the presence of God in their lives. Whether one is seeking questions about their faith, to grow in prayer, or discern what God is doing in their lives, this ministry, grounded in biblical truth, invites participants into a safe dialogue with another who cares deeply. She witnesses over and over during individual or group sessions the power of God to work in the hidden parts of one's soul to guide, grow, and love. In a world that drives toward speed and results, slowing down to listen beneath the noise to the Spirit of God is indeed good news!
