What is Root and Flourish?
At Root and Flourish, my desire is to create space for others to deepen their relationship with God, receive healing in their body/mind/spirit, and encounter authentic community. I believe the practice of Holy Yoga Is a beautiful way to offer all of these things.
I have studied the Bible for a long time, but have learned in more recent years that meditating on God's Word is different than just reading it. When you meditate on the Word, it somehow begins to become part of you...and begins to transform how you think, feel and act. Scripture promises us that we will flourish and bear fruit when we are deeply rooted in His Word and in His love.
Yoga has long been known to offer many benefits, such as: improving muscle tone, flexibility, balance, and circulation; building strength in joints, ligaments and tendons; pain management; reduction in stress, anxiety and depression; assistance in overcoming the affects of trauma; improving memory and concentration.
The practice of Holy Yoga offers these physical benefits as well, but it is also a beautiful way to integrate meditating on God's Word with movement of the body and breath. This Yoga experience is a time of worship, praise, and connection to Christ practiced to contemporary and motivational Christian music. It is an experience that teaches us to take time to love, nurture, accept, heal and grow ourselves in His Word and in His Spirit. All levels from beginners to advanced yoga practitioners are welcome.
Come join me for a yoga class, bible study or a retreat...we aren't meant to make this journey all on our own. When we come together with other believers to worship and root ourselves in His Word, something beautiful happens!

PRAY LIKE THIS
Pray Like This: Christ’s Guide to Praying the Scriptures, was written by my Holy Yoga sister Katie Noble, and printed by Hosanna Revival. "This 8-week study aims to mine the riches of The Lord’s Prayer one line at a time, drawing us nearer to the foot of the cross, while shaping the way we pray and commune with God. Each week includes space for reflection and an application sheet with guided prayers. We encourage and challenge you to push past any assumptions you hold about the Lord’s Prayer, and allow Jesus to open your eyes to new and beautiful riches in His Word. Let it shape the way you talk to God, as you learn to pray the Scriptures."
This devotional is absolutely beautifully written and printed. I hope you will consider joining me immediately following Holy Yoga in April and May.
My plan is to offer this time of community in person on Fridays, as well as on Zoom on Mondays.
*Space is limited, so please reserve a space only if you plan to attend all/most sessions. Due to COVID-19 and current policy at the 242 Community Center masks will need to be worn by participants of this study.
